What is HELMADE?

We are a small design and print studio based in Helsinki. We design and handprint each product ourselves, working in small batches to maintain quality and consistency throughout the process. Our focus is on everyday clothing that is functional, durable and carefully made.

The studio operates under the name HELMADE, short for Helsinkimade and the number 1550 refers to the year Helsinki was founded. It marks the starting point of the city where our work takes place.

Our surroundings influence how we work. The combination of sea, forest, and built environment shapes our sense of design and materials. We aim for clarity, practicality, and a way of working that makes sense, both in what we produce and how we produce it.
